To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, you will find a link to our Privacy Policy at the bottom of every page of our sites.
Our Commitment to Data SecurityTo prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Our Commitment to ChildrenProtecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 18.
Our Commitment to VisitorsAs a visitor to our sites, you can engage in some activities without providing any information such as visiting our public pages. These pages are generally located at www.gosecure.com.
In connection with other activities, such as utilizing our Material and Services, you must register and provide certain basic information about yourself by filling out and submitting a registration form. It is optional for you to engage in these activities. If you do not provide the mandatory basic data with respect to a particular activity, you can not engage in that activity.
Acceptance of TermsBy accessing or using www.gosecure.com or www. mygosecure.com (collectively, our sites) in any way, including using our Material and Services, you agree to and are bound by the GoSecure Privacy Policy set forth in this document. All Personal Information collected and used by GoSecure Inc. (GoSecure) in connection with our sites, and Material and Services are governed by this Privacy Policy as amended from time to time and not the Privacy Policy, in effect at the time the data was collected.
If you have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should immediately discontinue use of our sites and our Material and Services and follow the procedure described in the section entitled Updating your Personal Information and Privacy Preferences.
This Privacy Policy does not govern Privacy practices associated with offline activities, other sites, or Material and Services not available or enabled via our sites.
Key Definitions and StandardsPersonal Information that identifies or can be used to identify the person to whom such information pertains is defined as Personal Information. Personal Information is converted to Personal Data by GoSecure. You will find other common used capitalized words in this document defined in the glossary section of the FAQ section. The FAQ is located at www.mygosecure.com and www.gosecure.com .
GoSecure will apply for a licensee of the TRUSTe Web Privacy Seal Program. TRUSTe is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for Personal Information by promoting the use of fair information practices.
GoSecure adheres to the European Union Safe Harbor principles as set forth by the United States Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of Personal Information covered by the Privacy Policy from the European Union. We have certified that we adhere to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles agreed upon by the U.S. and the E.U. Our Material and Services are intended for adult audiences, and GoSecure does not knowingly collect any Personal Information from anyone under 18 years of age.
Who is Collecting the InformationPersonal Information on our sites is collected on behalf of GoSecure.
Our sites contain links to other websites at which Personal Information is collected. In such instance, the Privacy Policy applicable to that site will govern the collection and use of your Personal Information. That Privacy Policy should identify the entity that is collecting your Personal Information.
Why We Need InformationGoSecure provides an online backup, sharing and collaboration services as well as a social media networking platform. GoSecure requires necessary information during the registration process to provide these Services.
The Information We CollectOur data requirements for registration consist of a name and a valid email address. In certain situations to confirm the identity of our members or to process an order, we could require an address, credit card information and answers to security questions also.
All the other information you may provide to us is done on a voluntary basis. It is not required.
How is the Information UsedGoSecure collects Personal Information in order to record, support and facilitate your participation in the activities you select.
If you subscribe to our Material and Services, for example, the Personal Information is used to register your rights, if any, to technical support, or other benefits that may be made available to registered members as well as for quality control.
Quality ControlGoSecure collects certain standard information about your computer for quality control, security and identification purposes. Information is encrypted during transmission and is stored securely within our servers.
We save the following data in a server file: IP address, the respective page (s) from our sites visited, the time, status, and amount of the transferred data, the Internet site from which you have reached our site and the product and release information from your Internet browser.
GoSecure stores this data in the standardized combined log file format. GoSecure uses the data from this log file in anonymous form without reference to your person for statistical purposes. In doing the above, GoSecure analyzes on which days, at which time our Services are particularly frequented, and how much data volume is created on our sites. Furthermore, by using the server file, GoSecure can identify defects on our sites, such as defective hyperlinks or program defects, and thus continually improve the quality of our sites.
GoSecure reserves the right to review the server files from the last known IP address of a user where GoSecure has reasonable cause to believe that the member is using GoSecure Services in breach of contractual agreements or applicable legislation. In doing this, GoSecure is protecting other GoSecure members, as well as our Material and Services.
Certain Material and Services may require you to use the most current version of software. The system may automatically check to determine if you are using the most current release or have other mechanisms that could be causing difficulties for you. If so, we will relay an error message of the need to upgrade in order to use the product and service you have requested. During this process, an IP address identifying your computer and the product and service version may be sent to a web server.
MarketingGoSecure collects data about usage of the Material and Services, such as the types of services used and how many members we receive daily. This data is collected in aggregate form, without identifying any member individually. GoSecure uses this aggregate, non-identifying statistical data for improving our Material and Services.
In addition to the required Personal Information, we may conduct surveys and ask members to volunteer demographic information to be used on an aggregate basis for internal market research, presentation to partners and joint research projects with outside companies involved in product development. We use such data to better focus our product and personalize the scope of Services offered to each individual member.
Your Rights and ResponsibilitiesGoSecure recognizes the importance of responsible use of data collected in connection with our Material and Services.
GoSecure shall use your Personal Information solely to provide you the Services for which you have registered.
GoSecure will respect your legal rights regarding access to, correction and deletion of your Personal Information. GoSecure shall collect, process and use your Personal Information in accordance with the laws and statutes on data protection of the United States of America. There are instances in which GoSecure may divulge your Personal Information, such as where required by law, regulation, or litigation.
Our sites have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. GoSecure uses industry standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of Personal Information, including encryption, firewalls and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). Our security precautions are further detailed in the section, Protection of Your Personal Information.
Personal Information is password protected. GoSecure is not liable for loss of passwords due to member's carelessness. If you lose control over your password, you may lose control over your Personal Information. If you believe your password has been compromised, we recommend that you immediately change your password on your profile page.
DownloadsPersonal Information provided during registration for downloads is protected It is treated as private and confidential. It is invisible to others by default. We provide a software download that provides clear and conspicuous notice about the functionality, and it obtains consent prior to download. Our applications provide an easy to use uninstall and allow you to maintain control over your computing environment.
Personal Information: MembershipPersonal Information provided during registration is protected. It is treated as private and confidential. It is invisible to others by default. You control who may see the information by adjusting your Privacy Settings.
Availability of Profile to Non-ContactsGoSecure has preset your Privacy Settings as Private, and your information is not available to non-contacts. . However, you may change this at any time by adjusting your Privacy Settings.
Voluntary InformationIf you wish, you can provide or report additional information about yourself apart from the basic registration data on a voluntary basis (hereinafter referred to as Voluntary Information), to allow others to get to know you better. GoSecure has preset your Privacy Settings for your protection so that your Voluntary Information is not visible to anyone besides yourself. However, you may change this at any time by adjusting your Privacy Settings.
Instant Messaging information, for example is private. You can decide who can see the information, and who cannot. To do so, just go to the Privacy Settings for the Contact you wish to change. You can add, modify, or revoke settings for individual contacts at any time.
ForumsOn our sites, GoSecure may offer certain Groups, Knowledge Management and similar Services (collectively hereinafter referred to as Forums).
Your Forum Profile when participating in a Forum may consist of the following Personal Information:
- Picture
- First name, Surname
- Company Name
- Title
Each Forum will have an owner or organizer. The owner or organizer decides for each Forum whether it is accessible to a specific group of contacts.
Please note any information you post to a Forum is available to all persons accessing that location. The information you choose to share, including your email address, could then be available to all persons accessing these venues, and such information may be read, collected or used by others for any purpose, including sending you unsolicited messages.
GoSecure is not responsible for any information you elect to submit in these venues or the use of such information. In addition, you should be aware that the Forums might offer a service in which subscribers are emailed a copy of all messages posted to the Forums on a particular topic. Consequently, if you post a message to the Forums, your email address may be sent to those subscribers who have indicated an interest in the topic of your message.
InvitationsAs a member, you can invite others to join by supplying an email address and name on the invitation.
GoSecure will process the Personal Information collected in the course of the invitation solely for the invitation and shall not use it for any other purposes.
Search FunctionsGoSecure offer various possibilities to search for particular GoSecure members. GoSecure has preset your Privacy Settings for your protection so that you Profile is not searchable. However, you may change this at any time by adjusting your Privacy Settings.
CommunicationGoSecure may regularly send out newsletters or status emails (collectively hereinafter referred to as the Communication). In this Communication, GoSecure may inform you, among other things, about new features on our sites, as well as provide you with specific personal statistics from the respective past calendar week (i.e. whether you have new contacts to be confirmed and/or new private messages, etc.).
Our sites provide two options to opt-out of receiving Communications from us.
- You can opt-out by adjusting your Notification Settings options on your Profile page.
- You can unsubscribe by clicking on the link provided at the end of each Communication at any time.
In each of the cases above, you will receive notification that your changes have been successfully recorded and acted upon.
GoSecure reserves the right to communicate directly with you at any time if GoSecure has reasonable cause to believe that you are using our Material and Services in breach of contractual agreements or applicable legislation.
How to Access or Correct Your InformationYou have the right to access and correct Personal Information and Privacy Preferences at any time. This may be accomplished by editing your profile.
If there is Personal Information submitted through our sites or in connection with the Material and Services that is not editable or accessible online, you may correct such information by emailing GoSecure. In your correspondence, please indicate with as much detail as possible the location on our sites or otherwise where you provided your Personal Information. You may expect a response within 30 days.
Protection of InformationPersonal Information is protected in several ways.
- Personal Information is available through a password and unique customer ID selected by you. This password is encrypted. It resides on secure servers.
- GoSecure follows the standards for PCI SSC and maintains a secure network. We install and maintain a firewall configuration to protect data, safeguard stored data: encrypt transmission of Personal Data across open public networks, maintain a Vulnerability Management Program, implement strong access control measures, regularly monitor and test networks, as well as maintain an Information Security Policy.
- We do not share Personal Information with any third party unless compelled by applicable laws.
To provide more convenient, relevant experiences to our members, we may use cookies, web beacons and/or similar devices to track your activities.
A cookie is small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your identification card and may enable GoSecure to record your passwords, subscriptions and preferences. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses.
A web beacon is a small transparent gif image that is embedded in an HTML page or email used to track when the page or email has been viewed. This device is similar to a cookie in that it tracks your visit and the server that receives the data can only read the data. It is different from a cookie in that it is not browser-based, may not function as an identification card and does not store any data on your computer.
GoSecure uses cookies and/or similar devices to track general usage of our sites. After you have logged in to our sites with your member name and password, GoSecure may use cookies in order to identify you during the course of your session. A cookie will be stored on your computer. Upon the termination of your session, the cookie will be automatically deleted.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies and most Material and Services that include similar devices are typically initially activated to collect data. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. Some web pages may require cookies to be accepted or the member will not be able to access those related Material and Services.
Authentication of MembersIn order to reduce errors in our database, prevent abuse of our Material and Services and provide more consistent, relevant experiences to our members, we may supplement the Personal Information you submit to us with information from third-party sources.
For example, if permitted under applicable law, we may supplement your Registration Information with address information provided by the Credit Card Company or the U.S. Postal Service to authenticate your information and prevent errors in our database.
Channel PartnersGoSecure has established relationships with various Partners who are available from our sites by being linked to our sites. Personal Information that you provide while you are visiting a Partner's site will be subject to their Privacy Policy posted on their site.
It is our policy to require these companies to provide accessible methods for you to disable cookies, and should you have any complaint about the practices of any of these companies you should contact us.
International ConsiderationsBy using our Material and Services, you agree and acknowledge that Personal Information collected through our Material and Services may be transferred across national boundaries and stored and processed in any of the countries around the world in which GoSecure maintains offices, including the United States. You acknowledge that in certain countries or with respect to certain activities, the collection, transfer, trusted third parties might undertake storage, and processing of your information. Such third parties are bound by contract with GoSecure not to use your Personal Information for their own purposes or provide it to any third parties.
Notification of TransferIf GoSecure sells assets (or the assets of a division or subsidiary) to another entity, or GoSecure (or a division or subsidiary) is acquired by or merged with another entity, you agree that GoSecure may provide to such entity, customer information that is related to that part of our business that was sold to or merged with the other entity without obtaining your further consent. GoSecure will provide notice of such asset sales, acquisitions or mergers on our sites.
Data Not Collected on our SitesPersonal Information that is not collected with our Material and Services is not subject to this Privacy Policy. If you wish to access and/or correct such information, please see instructions for doing so in the section entitled How to Access or Correct Your Information.
Changes in Privacy PolicyGoSecure may change the Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion and will provide notice of changes in the Privacy Policy at our sites. If as the result of such changes you want to alter the ways in which GoSecure is allowed to use your Personal Information, you can do so by following the procedure described in the section entitled How to Access or Correct Your Information.

Privacy ComplaintsGoSecure takes its members' Privacy concerns seriously. If you believe that GoSecure has not complied with this Privacy Policy with respect to your Personal Information, you may email us. In the letter, please describe in as much detail as possible the ways in which you believe that the Privacy Policy has not been complied with. We will investigate your complaint promptly.
If you provide GoSecure with different preferences (for example, by indicating on one occasion that we may contact you and indicating on another occasion that we may not), GoSecure will endeavor to update your Privacy preferences in a timely and accurate manner.
